New courthouse will "complement" the one built in 1830

A four-story, 120,000-square-foot courthouse will be built in Augusta, Maine -- and will be attached to the existing courthouse, built in 1830. PDT Architects will use precast concrete, brick and composite stone material on the exterior of the building so as "to complement the old" facade, said Alan Kuniholm, a principal architect with the firm.
