PTC extension prompts Neb. utility to consider more wind energy

Nebraska-based Lincoln Electric System is considering increasing its wind power capacity by up to 50 megawatts, but the company has yet to reach a final decision, said Scott Benson, manager of the utility's resource and transmission planning department. The utility's interest in adding more power from wind was prompted by Congress' decision to extend the wind-energy Production Tax Credit, Benson said.
