Spain hit with doubled VAT on medtech

The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that Spain must apply a 21% value added tax to nearly all medical devices, twice the current rate of 10%. The change will add about $1.33 billion a year to the cost of medtech supplies and reduce public access, said an industry group.
