Xylitol lozenges failed to reduce caries in high-risk adults

Adults at high risk for dental caries who took xylitol-containing lozenges daily for 33 months did not demonstrate a statistically or clinically significant difference in caries increment than adults who took placebo lozenges, researchers report in the Journal of the American Dental Association.
