AGC survey shows construction employment may improve in 2012

There likely will be fewer workers let go by construction companies this year, according to a survey by the Associated General Contractors of America and Computer Guidance Corp. Only about 9% of companies surveyed say they plan to reduce their workforces, while about 32% say they plan to hire. In Arizona and Georgia, about one quarter of the respondents said they would likely hire, and only 5% to 6% expected layoffs.
