Program offers college experience to those with learning disabilities

Ready for Life is a nonprofit program that provides a college experience for students with cognitive disabilities at Hope College in Michigan. The six-year program does not offer standard college credit, but aims to prepare students for the workforce. Research shows that students with disabilities are less likely than those without disabilities to enroll in education beyond high school, and advocates say more specialized post-secondary programs are needed.
