Bipartisan group of lawmakers makes case for LNG exports

Market forces will guarantee that domestic natural gas prices are controlled if the U.S. boosts liquefied natural gas exports, a bipartisan group of lawmakers told Energy Secretary Steven Chu. "In other words, the difference between the price of gas in the U.S. and internationally would need to be at least that much higher in order to justify its export," the lawmakers said. "That price differential is a significant cushion against domestic prices climbing to a 'world price.'"
