Cookstove among engineer's projects to help poor

American engineer Heather Fleming is devising products to ease life in the developing world, including a more efficient cookstove. "I think my perspective on my work comes from growing up on both sides of the barrier and not feeling comfortable on either side," says Fleming, who grew up near an impoverished Navajo reservation in New Mexico and has volunteered with Engineers Without Borders.
