How to improve nurse participation in quality improvement

The participation of registered nurses in quality improvement programs showed little progress between 2004 and 2008, according to a study in the Journal of Nursing Care Quality. Researchers from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation suggested strategies that would help engage nurses in the programs, such as increasing the involvement of experienced colleagues in helping new nurses translate newly acquired QI knowledge into action.
