Meet the EPA's new environmental-justice chief

Matthew Tejada, the incoming director of the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Environmental Justice, spent the past five years fighting Texas air pollution as director of Air Alliance Houston. He says he wants to bring that experience to bear on the administration's environmental efforts. "Environmental justice has had a very ambiguous place within the huge federal bureaucracy. ... It's really going to take somebody that's hopefully going to be given the room to advocate for environmental justice," he says.
