Out lesbian collects endorsements in NYC mayoral bid

New York City could become the world’s largest municipality to elect an LGBT mayor. Emily's List, the Victory Fund, Empire State Pride Agenda and others have endorsed openly lesbian New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who is expected to run for the job. The Victory Fund has endorsed five other openly gay or lesbian mayoral candidates so far this year. Other cities that could elect openly gay mayors for the first time include Seattle, Minneapolis and Harrisburg, Pa.
