SEC takes issue with IOSCO guidelines on complex financial products

The Securities and Exchange Commission is criticizing the International Organization of Securities Commissions over a report, "Suitability Requirements with Respect to the Distribution of Complex Financial Products." The U.S. should not "conform to the final report," the SEC says. "In our view, the final report does not accurately reflect the relevant law in the U.S.," SEC members Troy Paredes and Daniel Gallagher said in a statement.
