Wash. state nuclear plant hit generation milestone in 2012

Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station in Washington state generated 9.34 million megawatts in 2012, the highest figure in its 28-year history. Aside from 10 days of maintenance in May, the facility operated continuously last year, the utility said. The plant has also stayed online for more than three years without any unexpected shutdowns.
