Proposed rule on Stage 2 meaningful use may be in the offing

The Department of Health and Human Services may be a step closer to issuing its proposed rule governing Stage 2 of the meaningful use program, which the agency earlier announced could be available this month or next month. The agency has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget an accompanying rule outlining the Stage 2 implementation details, standards and certification requirements for EHRs.
