Researcher: Bans better than taxes at discouraging teen tanning

Most tanning salons are passing along a new tax to customers, but the higher cost has done little to discourage teen tanning, a study published in Archives of Dermatology found. Complete bans are needed to deter minors from using indoor tanning, said lead author June Robinson, a research professor of dermatology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
