Anchorage schools make changes in K-8 math curriculum

In response to parental complaints about the elementary-school math curriculum, Everyday Math, the Anchorage School District recently decided to replace the program with Go Math! The district also opted to return the middle-school math curriculum to a more traditional program, so the Big Ideas curriculum will replace Mathscape. "It was clear that parents and the community didn't support the district's current math program and a change had to be made," superintendent Jim Browder said.
