Greenwood: Allow small biotechs to access grants

The Small Business Administration's change to the eligibility requirements for Small Business Innovation Research grants creates a "roadblock to innovations and health care breakthroughs," BIO President Jim Greenwood says in a letter to the editor. A bill cosponsored by Rep. Judy Biggert, R-Ill., would allow small biotech firms to apply for the grants and "compete on the basis of the promise of their therapies, not their capital structure," Greenwood says.
