Under Armour, a Baltimore-based maker of sleek sports apparel, is entering the running-shoe business and aiming for Nike. "You can't be a world-class athletic brand without the ability to outfit the athlete head to toe," says CEO Kevin Plank. Their secret weapon: New SAP software and other computer-related technologies that may help this company run with the big dogs. But then, Nike is no slouch in the tech department, either.
