Boeing produces satellites on assembly line in "pulse manufacturing"

Boeing is using pulse manufacturing to build four Global Positioning System IIF satellites for the Air Force under a $1.35 billion contract. Using pulse manufacturing, Boeing moves the satellites to designated stations on a fixed schedule, allocating resources to stations that start to fall behind, GPS Program Director Jan Heide said.
