The fourth-quarter click-through-rate for ads via smartphones and tablet computers rose to 1.25% and 1.31% respectively, surpassing desktop and laptop PCs (0.95%), per a Marin Software study. Industry observers noted the need to create better smartphone ads, including those that highlight store information for those not interested in purchasing online.
