4 guidelines for building responsive sites

Everyone's talking about responsive design, but the industry is sorely in need of some clear standards for responsive websites, writes Matthew Carver. Among his suggested rules for designers: Don't try to take shortcuts, and don't assume there's a way to make responsive design simple and straightforward. Web designers need to be willing to learn to use new tools, while maintaining an adaptable attitude toward their work, he writes.
