AutisMate app helps those with autism build sentences visually

The AutisMate iPad application designed for children with autism uses a visual language of familiar scenes to help users communicate nonverbally. Clicking on simplified icons allows such children to build a sentence, for example, and the app incorporates interactive pictures of the user's actual environment to go beyond the abstract.
