ESC consensus document backs radial approach in PCI

The radial approach is preferred over femoral access for percutaneous coronary intervention, according to a European Society of Cardiology consensus document published in EuroIntervention. Radial access means better survival and less bleeding than femoral access, according to the report's authors, but they note that femoral access is still an important tool for a number of procedures and cases when the radial approach fails.
