Europe looks to toughen olive oil tracking, inspection

The European Commission has introduced draft legislation aimed at strengthening anti-fraud efforts for olive oil. The amendments call for member countries to conduct one yearly targeted inspection for every 1,000 metric tons of marketed olive oil. Those storing olive oil would have to maintain records on olive oil entries and withdrawals through bottling.
