Expert: State regulators hold the keys to smart grid's future

President Barack Obama's promise to focus more attention on the issue of climate change could benefit greatly from a commitment to advance the smart grid, according to experts, who say it's up to state regulators to overcome their skepticism and to take the steps necessary to propel the technology forward. Kurt Yeager, vice chairman of the Galvin Electricity Initiative in California, is urging regulators to provide utilities incentives to advance the smart grid.
