Flaxseeds may cut cows' greenhouse gas emissions

Quebec milk producers will add crushed flaxseed to their dairy cows' feed as part of a pilot program aimed at reducing greenhouse gases. Similar studies resulted in a 12% reduction in methane emitted by cows. Including flaxseeds may also increase the omega-3 fatty acids in the cows' milk.
