Former Ga. House speaker faces charges on gun at airport

Police found a small handgun in former Georgia state Rep. Terry Coleman's briefcase on Wednesday at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Coleman, a former speaker of the Georgia House, said the incident was an oversight on his part. "I greatly appreciate the hard work, vigilance and professionalism of the Atlanta Airport Police, Atlanta Airport staff, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and the Transportation Security Administration, and apologize for the trouble caused by my own oversight," he said in a statement.
