RIM's Heins prepares to step up in huge roll of the dice

With Research In Motion ready to unveil its BlackBerry 10 operating system Wednesday, analysts are debating whether RIM can persuade its formerly steadfast corps of corporate customers to stay with the platform and its defectors to return. The New York event will also shine a spotlight on new CEO Thorsten Heins. "This is RIM betting the farm -- it’s that big, it’s that important,” IDC analyst Ramon Llamas said. RIM also released a little more information about its new BlackBerry World application store, saying the library will contain a broad array of music, films and TV shows, with movies released in the same window as DVDs.
