Price Chopper pushes for electronic sign in Albany, N.Y.

Price Chopper wants permission to erect an $85,000 electronic sign on the back of the store that would broadcast weekly specials, community service messages and other information to drivers on Albany, N.Y.'s Interstate 90. The supermarket needs a variance from the city to put up the 11-foot by 17-foot sign, which under the current zoning laws are only allowed on movie theaters.
