U.S. ethanol use rose in first 10 months of 2012; output fell

U.S. ethanol use in the first 10 months of 2012 totaled 10.84 billion gallons, an increase over the same periods in 2011 and 2010, according to the Energy Information Administration's latest Monthly Energy Review. The U.S. produced 11.151 billion gallons of the fuel from January through October 2012, down from the first 10 months of 2011 but up from the same period in 2010, the report showed.
