Job opportunities in Silicon Valley are on the increase, thanks to growth in hiring at large and pioneering companies such as Facebook and Google, but some older workers are finding themselves left out. With the tech industry shifting away from manufacturing to more Internet-focused innovation, the engineers, developers and factory managers who helped fuel the San Francisco Bay Area's first tech boom say they are finding their experience counts little in a marketplace filled with younger, more entrepreneurial workers.
