MEMS devices used to create a hyperspectral imager

Imec has demonstrated a hyperspectral camera -- an optical instrument in which each pixel is a spectrometer -- using microelectromechanical spectral filters atop a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor image sensor. The highly sensitive camera can be used for applications in crop screening, food inspection, skin cancer detection and target detection.
