Calif. regulator fines Chevron nearly $1M over refinery fire

Chevron will pay close to $1 million for safety violations associated with a fire at the company's Richmond, Calif., refinery in 2012, according to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health. The company, which is facing 11 "willful serious" and 12 "serious" violations, opposes the regulator's findings and intends to appeal, a spokesman said.
