Increasing demand seen for pea protein

Interest in plant-based proteins is driving increased demand for pea protein, experts say. "Consumers want products that are healthy and sustainable and that at the same time offer an attractive taste and texture," said Bruno Gehin, corporate product manager for proteins at Roquette. Pea protein is beginning to enter the mainstream in gluten-free products and other items with a focus on health or dietary restrictions.
