IRS issues final rules on health insurance tax credits

Tax credits for the purchase of health insurance will be calculated on the basis of self-only coverage rather than more costly family coverage, according to the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS also is proposing that families excluded from receiving such credits won't face a penalty if they opt against buying insurance.
