Lower-priced products hurt surfactant volume

Consumers have gone for cheaper products over the past few years, and "we have not seen evidence" that they are returning to more expensive detergents, said Eric Stouder of Sasol Olefins & Surfactants. Such pricing preferences "lead to detergents consumed with somewhat lower levels of surfactant, so that impacts our volume," Stouder said.
