A shifting digital advertising marketplace has made online video advertising increasingly important, writes Patrick Himes. A variety of trends are driving the rise of online video ads, including the proliferation of platforms for viewing video, changing content consumption habits and even new platforms such as Vine, which hosts six-second clips. "I have little doubt that video ads are going to become one of, if not the primary and most effective, advertising methods," Himes writes.
