Social networks engage TV viewers differently, experts say

Facebook provides a place for television viewers to recommend shows to one another and stay engaged when the show is off the air -- while Twitter is the place fans turn for real-time interaction with each other during the show, cable industry experts said during a panel at the 2013 RealScreen Summit. Panelists also noted that each network offers marketers different challenges, such as the anonymity and proliferation of bots on Twitter and the difficulty of accessing Facebook data.
