Students' privileges tied to meal accounts in Ohio district

In an Ohio school district, students who owe $50 or more in meal charges will be prevented from participating in extracurricular activities. Parents and students were notified of the change this week and will have two weeks to bring their accounts up-to-date before the penalty takes effect. Officials say many parents have come forward to pay the overdue charges since the change was made.
