Content-management systems range from lightweight blogging systems to advanced packages designed to meet the needs of big corporations, so it's important for Web designers to figure out which CMS is right for them, writes Tyler Herman. Rather than simply choosing an easy-to-learn system, designers should pick a CMS with growth potential and a well-established ecosystem of users and developers. "Think about where you are in your career now, and where you want to be five and ten years from now. The CMS you choose will be with you at least that long," Herman advises.
