K-VA-T chief Smith wins FMI's Raab award

K-VA-T Food Stores CEO Steven Smith was honored with the Sidney R. Raab Award at FMI's Midwinter Executive Conference. The award recognizes excellence in serving the customer, the community and the industry. Smith helms a chain that includes 93 Food City stores and 11 Super Dollar Discount Foods locations. His father, Jack Smith, opened the first Piggly Wiggly in 1955.
