Length of stay not longer at safety-net EDs, study finds

Data from the annual National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey revealed no significant differences in median length of stay between emergency departments at safety-net hospitals and those at other facilities. The overall length of stay was 269 minutes for safety-net emergency departments and 281 minutes for others. The results were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
