Radio industry needs to shore up its support of women

The radio industry, just like the television, film and literary industries, needs to do more to bring about gender equality and give women the same opportunities, and more attention, in the broadcast booth, says writer Meredith Lepore. She points to statistics that indicate radio book review programs at NPR and the BBC focus more on male authors than females, and industry figures that indicate there are fewer women working in radio than males.
