Mo. school district touts propane autogas' benefits, safety

Fort Zumwalt School District in Missouri is singing the praises of propane autogas after buying eight autogas-fueled buses to reduce costs and emissions. "A propane bus, just like gasoline, runs very quiet. You can hear what's going on with the kids on the bus. It's a nice driving experience with an incredibly safe fuel tank," said Blue Bird CEO Phil Horlock, whose company manufactured the buses. Officials said the district plans to add 22 more autogas-powered buses to its fleet.
