Internet Trade Group Supports Satellite Merger

Saying the proposed EchoStar-DirecTV merger would provide rural broadband access, the U.S. Internet Association filed papers this week with the FCC supporting the deal. EchoStar chief Charlie Ergen has said Internet connectivity is a top priority. Cable's reach does not extend to some rural communities.
