Health IT pioneer recommends "rethinking" EHR strategy

HL7 founder and e-health pioneer Dr. Donald Simborg says a new approach is needed to ensure the efficacy of EHR initiatives. He says programs currently deliver the strongest financial rewards to health insurers while making providers to pay for the systems, which also require providers to restructure their offices and working habits.
