Digital should support, not supplant, TV platform, ESPN chief says

ESPN doesn't want to "undermine" the value of its TV content by airing games on its digital platforms, John Skipper, the sports giant's president, said at an industry event. The network has the right to air its games on any device, but Skipper says its mobile strategy focuses on alerts and fantasy sports offerings. Skipper also defended ESPN's carriage fees, saying fees would be even higher if it switched from bundling channels to offering a la carte programming.
