IT controls on SaaS should be looser, EasyJet exec says

Business users should be free to implement software-as-a-service applications with less interference from the IT department, says Bert Craven of EasyJet. "There have been secret PCs under people's desks as long as there have been PCs -– stuff that IT didn't know about. IT has to decide the level of control that it really needs, not the level of control that it wants," Craven says. He said, however, that IT should provide security for SaaS offerings.
