Microsoft Tag gains momentum in publishing

Microsoft Tags -- which run as printed bar codes that, when photographed with a cell phone, link to multimedia digital content -- are finding their way into magazines such as Golf Digest, as well as newspapers, business cards and even outdoor signage. "It's the hyperlink in the physical world," says Microsoft's Marja Koopmans. So far, Microsoft has been allowing companies to use Tags for free.
