Study plans to look at dental care's effect on other medical costs

United Concordia will fund a new study with Highmark, its parent company, to look at how gum disease treatment and dental cleanings influence medical costs for patients with certain health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Study results are expected later in the year.
